We were just friends…until we weren't.

It all started in church, where a mutual friend introduced us. Kayode was the choir director in our small church and I was just an intending choir member at the time.

Looking back, I honestly cannot remember my first impression of him, but as time went by, I realized how much I enjoyed spending time with this "choir director".

For years we were just friends — laughing, talking and sharing different seasons of our lives together — in a platonic way. But then, life happened.

I went through a failed relationship, and one evening, after a random hangout with Kayode, a lightbulb went off in my head.

I realized then and there, that he was the one all along. The one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
